Creative Golf is a creative community based off the card game 9 card golf with a few modifications.

Rules:
No ship or character bashing. No harassment.
All works with potentially triggering content must be warned for unless you choose to use a Choose Not To Warn Disclaimer, which means that the work may or may not contain triggering content and it is up to the individual to decide if they wish to view it.
Welcome to creativegolf, a creative community modeled after the card game 9 CARD GOLF .
(with a few modifications!)

Rules:
No ship or character bashing. No harassment.
All works with potentially triggering content must be warned for unless you choose to use a Choose Not To Warn Disclaimer, which means that the work may or may not contain triggering content and it is up to the individual to decide if they wish to view it.
Any fandom, original work, ship, medium, etc, is allowed.

Here is how the game works (example deck in comments):

-You comment here with the list of prompts you’d like included and any prompts within those lists you’d like excluded. You may exclude up to 10 prompts. The list of prompts is here.
-I give you a list of randomized prompts within your selected categories on a 3x3 table. These are called a deck. You may shuffle the deck in any way you choose, but you may only do so once. If you do decide to shuffle the deck, please post your new deck with your preferred arrangement either directly in a reply or reply with a link to it posted elsewhere under the deck comment I gave you!
-Decide how to match the prompts. Prompts are matched in columns. You can match different columns different ways, match them the same way, whatever. You can also include Jokers or Kings, which are explained later on. While playing for points is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL, the goal is still to complete the columns in the way you’ve matched them even if you’re not playing for points, just to avoid confusion :p

To quote Whose Line Is It Anyway, “Everything is made up and the points don’t matter!” But for anyone competitive: the goal in golf the game is to get the least amount of points, so for those choosing to play for points, read below.

Each fill is worth one point, and columns completed eliminate the points, so if you create one fill for a column, that’s one point, the 2nd fill is 2 points, and with the 3rd you roll back to zero points (or however many points correspond to the fills in your other columns, if you’re playing with the other columns). Jokers and Kings can be included to decrease your points if you’re interested. They are explained later on.

It’s also not required to do all 3 columns, or even complete anything at all. This is intended to be fun and a bit challenging but ultimately low pressure!

Anyway….

Here are the ways to match the prompts:

By character involved. Matching by character means fills for the three prompts in your column will all include the same character. Other characters can be present, but all three fills in this column must include that character.
By fandom involved. Matching by relationship means all fills for the three prompts in your column will all be from the same fandom.
By relationship involved. Matching by relationship means fills for the three prompts in your column will all be about the same relationship. It can be any kind of relationship at all - friends, lovers, hatred, polyamorous, familial - and the fills can explore the relationships in different ways - but the relationship must be present in some form in all fills in this column.
By medium. Matching by medium means all fills will be written in the same medium. For example, this column could be 3 icon sets.
By trope, kink, or AU. These could all be set in the same alternate universe or include the same trope or kink.
Up to you. Decide your own way to match the cards. For example, you could dedicate a column to 3 original works, or do 3 columns with one column for each original universe you have, or do 3 works with your top 3 OTPs… up to you!

Jokers & Kings are ways to get your points down. Include or incorporate a Joker in a fill and you can subtract -3 points from your score, even if it’s 0. Include a King in a fill and you can subtract -1 from your score. Multiple can be done for one fill if you want. You can also just do them for fun and give yourself a gold star. 🙂 These are self-assignable, I don’t Approve or screen for them. Always open to suggestions for more.

Current jokers:

-The fill is a gift for someone else
-The fill includes a fandom with 200 or less works on Ao3
-The fill includes a relationship with 50 or less works (under & if you’re creating for gen relationships and under / if you’re creating for romantic/sexual interprerations) on Ao3
-The fill is made in an unconventional medium (crafts, multimedia, video games/interactive fiction, a zine, anything you think qualifies)
-The fill was created with great effort and you’re very proud of it (if you’ve ever done Artfight, this is the creativegolf version of the “polish” option)
-The fill is 10k words or more

Current Kings:
-The fill is a visual medium (icons, fanart, graphics, gifsets, etc)
-The fill is an audio medium, or equivalent, such as a video essay or fanmix
-The fill is 2k words or more
-The fill medium is meta
-The fill is for an original work
-The fill is hosted exclusively on a non-Ao3 archive, like Squidgeworld, your own personal website, fic/creations journal, or here on the creativegolf community
-The fill is 100 words exactly (a drabble)

Posting:

Post when you’ve completed a column or individual fill, or post all individual fills and then a column roundup post. It is up to you which way you want to post.
